Why and How I made this post? - - - After making previous post Happy 2000 PageViews - (2016 Dec 24 Sat)  I become impressed by it's look and feel. But after some time, as there is nothing final in art, I started thinking in what other ways  that post can be made to improve it further in look & feel.  After some thinking I shortlisted some options and then selected one of them for working. So I made this above image  via  Microsoft Windows Powerpoint 2007 (for main work: wordart etc) and  site online-image-editor (for adding watermark, creator info and logo) and  Microsoft Paint (for saving screenshot of work in powerpoint as image).

.

Final product looked so good to me that I decided to put it here.

Some time back in my older post 'JAN' Cartoons for Kids at See TV I mentioned about 'JAN' Cartoon for kids from SeeTv. Last night before sleeping I wondered why I forgot to mention another channel called 'ChuChu TV Nursery Rhymes & Kids Songs' then. It is full of so like-able videos.

ChuChu Tv channel is full of very good quality educational videos for kids. So far videos we watched in it are all very much liked and enjoyed by Ishi, 3 years old daughter of my younger brother. Ishi is watching and enjoying videos from channel 'Chu Chu Tv' and many other channels for around 1 year now. Older persons in our home also like these videos very much.

Culture, History, Language and Religion education in our Country 'Pakistan

In our country it remains a hot topic to discus in what language to educate and what languages to educate etc. And I am also one of them who spent some time on thinking about this topic. After researching what is happening around the world on this topic I once upon a time made a new idea for giving language education in our country Pakistan.     Idea was simple and easy to understand and implement. According to that idea first we will divide language subjects into 3 categories like . 1) International language     In this category English will be compulsory subject and any number of other language not spoken in our country optional subject. . 2) National language     In this category Urdu will be compulsory subject and any number of other language spoken in our country optional subject. . 3) Mother tongue     In this category student's Mother tongue will be compulsory subject and any number of other mother tongue of our country optional subject. .     And it will be made sure that language subjects of all 3 categories taken by student are different. .     This way we will be able to teach our students many international and national languages as well as their own mother tongue. .     Mother tongue will be taught on the patten of 'teach your self' books. So if in a class of say 50 students have 50 different mother tongues they all will be able to learn their own mother tongue. .     This way students will be able to learn languages of their own choice and society will get a lot of students knowing a lot of languages. So every one will benefit from this system of language learning. .     As one can see this scheme is not only easy and simple but also unique because it also teaches every student it's own 'mother tongue'. .     So as you can see this scheme of language education is very futuristic and useful. And any country including ours can implement it very easily. . Afterthoughts [2016Dec20Tue] .     After writing above text and reading it again and again for removing typing mistakes and improving text another idea visited my mind and that is that same way every individual student can be taught his/her very own Religion, History and Culture as well. And I think this a great idea to implement any where in our world including our country. .

Since many years I am searching reading and researching about digital storage devices used in Computers like floppy- disks, HDD and CD/DVD etc. Specially in what format data/information is stored on them and how data is read from them and how data is written to them.

I read mostly about ram, floppy disks, cds/dvds, tapes and many other old devices.

I was able to understand some, some went above my head and I made some ideas myself. Specially about format for storing data/information on HDD and also how to write data/information to HDD and how to read data from HDD.

Ideas I made are as follows:-

1) How to store data on HDD:

.

Now a days data is stored in 2 dimensions on surface of HDD platter called tracks and sectors. Smallest unit HDD can read/write is called 'sector' and smallest unit within sector is bit which are actually written to or read from surface of HDD. 'Bit' can represent 2 states, 0 or 1 only meaning only 2 type of values can be stored in 'bit'. Where as my idea is to store entire byte at 'bit' location. Meaning instead of storing '2' type of values at bit location I want to store '2 power number-of-bits-in-byte' type of values in bit location. For example a byte of 8 bits there will be total 256 values. And of course now bit location will be called byte location and bits will be inside it in 3rd dimension

This way HDD capacity will increase with size of byte.

2) How to do data read/write on HDD:

.

This I will explain with the following example and I will try to keep it easy. Think of a HDD of any standard size with only 4 tracks on it and only 4 sectors per tracks placed at equal distance. My idea is that there will be as many read/write heads as there are sectors on HDD. With each head stationed on start of some sector. Either heads or platter of HDD will move and other will be unmovable. So on any read/write request for a cluster, movement will be only for the length of sector. In other words read/write process for entire cluster will be done in parallel. Plus read/write of more then one cluster in parallel will be possible also. All this in movement of 1 sector only.

Thus improving the HDD performance in term of time.

And if I further pack data meaning make bit location represent entire sector then there will be no need of moving platter or head as all head will be now stationed right above some sector which they will read or right without need of any movement. Not only it will increase HDD size (in multiple of sector size in bits) it will also increase speed of data read/write also.

In my system of things 'bit location' will be called something like ASL 'actual storage location'. Because actual storage will be done at these locations.

Further advantages:

This type of HDD will provide many other interesting possibilities also. Like:-

1) Entire HDD will be able to have it's own default sector and byte size.

2) Each partition will be able to have it's own default sector and byte size.

3) Each folder will be able to have it's own default sector and byte size.

4) Each file will be able to have it's own sector and byte size.

I once, about 5 to 10 years ago, thought why not Pakistan have a number of almost equidistant highways running from it's top to bottom almost parallel to each other. And another number of almost equidistant highways running from it's left to right almost parallel to each other and also connecting top-to-bottom highways where they meet

And at the same time I also thought that all these top-to-bottom highways will end at bottom near some sea-port. Where there is already a sea-port it is OK but where required a new sea-port, as good looking as we see in english movies, will be made.

And I continued to think that economic development will be spread around these highways as per requirement of the area and it's people . These development will not be made directly beside highways but on some distance from highways. This way highways will remain away from rush of developed areas.

And I also thought that there will be two types of highways running side by side. One for heavy traffic and another for light traffic, both multi-lane. Maximum number of lanes for either type of highway were not decided. But there will be separate road for going and coming traffic, with island between them, was decided. One more idea was to make light traffic highway on pattern of 'autobahn' of Germany with no upper speed limit.

As far as it's utilization fees was concerned I made two ideas:

●-(First idea was to make these highways totally utilization fees free.)

●-(Second idea was to charge utilization fees from it's users based on each vehicle's weight and length of highway utilized.)

Other then above options tokens of Rs100, Rs200, Rs500, Rs1000 will be made available to highway users so that they can optionally purchase them in any number in the name of maintenance of highways.

Another parallel idea was to have railway lines running parallel to both type of these top-to-bottom and left-to-right highways.

So any one using these networks of highways and trains can move from anywhere to anywhere using connecting trains/buses etc. Therefore increasing economic and social activity nation wide.

You can see in the following map a rough idea of that 'network of highway' proposed/planed/designed by me (Khursheed Fateh).

From where I got these ideas?

Above idea is based on highway grid of a far-flung country, which is other-wise very near to our heart, where a number of highways move horizontally and vertically throughout the country. I came to know about that highway system while watching some travel videos and then after searching about highways in those videos and thinking and re-thinking I made my above Ideas.

Few years ago during and after watching 'Mega Structur' type of programs on tv an idea visited my mind to make good looking high-rise building designs myself.

Since then I made a few designs using different used or in-use materials. And also some time on computer using different softwares like microsoft paint and autodesk AutoCad.

This building's design and name is based on choti 'braid/plait' of young and beautiful women. Which is inspiring artists and poets for million of years.

As it looks it is a very complicated design. I do not know whether it is so far possible or not to make it on ground in real world.

For making this tower I used clay with which my niece "Ishi' play. And then made this video of the tower with my mobile nokia c1-01 in our lawn and did post-production of video in microsoft Movie Maker on Pentium 3 running windows XP.

This blog entry is actually text of an old email of mine, I sent on 2015 Oct 08 Thu to my contacts.

2015 October 06 Tuesday

Today I mixed Pentium 2, Pentium 3, Pentium 4 and Panasonic deck together and got excellent results. Pentium 2 belonged to Faraz, Pentium 3 belonged to Mani and Pentium 4 belonged to Omer. Panasonic deck also belonged to Omer.

As all these were not working properly and were very old so we were about to get rid of them. Therefor I decided/planed to experiment with them. :D. In Pentium 2 monitor was not working. In Pentium 4 motherboard was not working. In Panasonic deck CD drive and Tape drive were not working. Only Pentium 3 was in some what working condition. So I made it base for my experiment.

Actually I took HHD (20GB) from Pentium 2 and data cable from Pentium 4 and installed it in Pentium 3. At first HDD was not installing. After many attempts I reverced data cable and it worked. :D. I also took data cable for Floppy disk from Pentium 4 as that was missing from Pentium 3.

So far somehow OS selection menu (Multi/Dual boot menu)is not showing. :(. Onlly xp from original HDD (40GB) of Pentium 3 is booting and Windows XP and Windows 78 from HDD of Pentium 2 is not booting. :(. May be some time else it will also work.

After this success I got confident enough to attempt some thing more. Some thing that was in my mind for long time, may be around 10 years, but I was not attempting. So I went to markit and bought cable for connecting Pentium 3 and Panasonic deck for using deck's amplifier. :D. First attempt was a failure (normal ;D ). There was no sound. I removed cable and used it in reverce. One of two pins, red one, in PC’s audio out and single pin (black one) in deck’s mic port. Immediately there was sound, although not good, but some thig was there to encourage me. After some time I removed connecting cabloe and inserted it again in corret ports again. This time there was sound and the sound was very good. :D. So I enjoyed a lot of audios and videos very much. :D.

I enjoyed todays work. As I was alone at home so I enjoyed it more.

2015 October 07 Wednesday

And today I installed HDD (40GB) of Pentium 4 into Pentium 3 also. But as there were 4 devices 3 HDD and 1 CD/Writer and only 3 power plugs available for them in Pentium 3, 4th plug was smaller for floppy, I sacrificed CD/Writer for the time being. Some time else I will search for two way plug and that will solve the problem. :D.

Physically arranging 3 HDD's in PC was tricky and there was very tight space. But after a few attempts and re-attempts I was able to install them all.

XP from HDD of Pentium 4 is also booting but as all it's softwar's were installed for Pentium 4 they ran a little slowly.

Panasonic Deck's amplifier is working fine. :D.

.

To know which drive (partition) belong to which physical HDD I labeled them accordingly. For example D1P1 for HDD 1 and partition 1 etc.

.

Bottom line: I harvested some great benefits from this recycle.

During last night's electricity fluctuation my Old Pentium 3 stopped and is still not starting. I will try to make it work again.

I do not think I will try to make Pentium 3 work again. It is a sad end of a great companionship. I learned a lot on these Pentiums and enjoyed surfing net, listening/watching songs and watching movies. I do not play games on PC. Plus html, vbscript, jscript, asp, php, java, visual studio 'c#', my sql, microsoft sql, microsoft ofice with frontpage (I really like frontpage), adobe 'photoshop 7' (I got this on recommendation of local photography shop owner), flash 5 & 8, microsoft movie maker, autocad etc all I learned on these Computers. I also enjoyed listening songs on Panasonic deck, it's sound quality was, and still is, very good.

A few years ago a lot of over pases, under pases and signal free corridors were made on mass scale in Karachi/Sindh/Pakistan (mostly during Gen. Musharef rule) to make traffic flow smooth and free of a lot of brakes. While thinking about these roads and re-searching on net about solutions for the same problem I got a new idea

Idea was to make main roads of Karachi/Sindh/Pakistan multistory from start to end with both level of roads getting connected together on each/every Intersection. Intersection on each level was to be made mostly of 'cloverleaf intersection' or some variation of 'whirlpool intersection'. Because they are only 2 story high and provide Strait, Left and Right turns. 'Cloverleaf intersection' also provide U turn and with small effort 'whirlpool intersection' can also provide U turn easily. Both levels were to be connected together by connecting intersections on both levels.

But that is not all. I went ahead with my thinking and planning and made another new idea. And this time idea was to design roads of big cities like Karachi/Sindh/Pakistan on pattern of graph paper. Where dark lines represent main roads. This method provides main roads to each part of city evenly. And any one can move from one part of city to another part of city using any of so many possibilities present. Thus reducing chance of choking any part of road-system. Another benefit of this design of road-system is that bus routs can be made in a lot of ways to provide even opportunities to every part of city.

To further ease traffic on this road-system a rule can be made according to which buses will always move on 1st level of road-system. Taxis and rickshaws will move on 1st level of road-system only for searching-for, picking and delivering of passengers, otherwise they will move on 2nd level of road-system. Personal vehicles like cars, motorcycles will move on 2nd level except on start and stop points. People on shopping/window-shopping mission will use 1st level at start and end point and 2nd level in between of their journey. People on tourism mission will use any level. Plus any other vehicle doing short distance travel will use 1st level and long distance travel will use 2nd level. This is only beginning version of 'traffic easing rule'. Final version will be made after analyzing actual traffic for some years and using Computer for generating possible solutions, based on collected information, for further easing traffic on road-system.

Over some years in past in some traveling videos I saw a situation in which traffic was moving towards each other on same lane of same road while entering or leaving Pakistan. May be the reason behind this situation is that out of 4 neighboring countries of Pakistan, in 3 countries traffic moves on right hand side of road while in Pakistan traffic moves on left hand side of the road. In remaining 1 neighboring country traffic also moves on left hand side of the road.

So after searching and re-searching on above described problem/topic I found/reached-on, a solution which is simple, affordable and easy to implement and maintain.

So I started making road drawings based on solutions I short listed. I made many versions one after another but kept rejecting them because of their complexity. After many tries I reached on solution as shown in the following drawings. I think it is simple not only to make and maintain but also for using. This solution does not need any bridges therefore it is also economical and affordable for countries like ours.

Drawings are self descriptive so I am not describing it any further here in text. But maybe in future I come back here and add explanations here.

I think this solution to above described problem can be used anywhere in the world where it's requirement occurs.

And if someone is thinking what about remaining 1 country then following type of arrangement can be made for that country. This way all international border-crossings get same type of 'look and feel'.

Not only these arrangements are useful for keeping traffic at international border it's own lane but they also provide very good security at international border crossings.

A few months ago I was thinking about HDD. Specially how data/information is stored on it. While searching, re-searching and analyzing topic I got an idea. And that idea was to make a program/software/app to analyze HDD performance without using HDD concerned. Idea was to get information about HDD in full detail from user and then calculate shortest and longest time it takes to access all SECTORS on HDD in all possible combinations. And if user likes then also save in file, time taken and sequence of tracks traversed in each combination..

.

Software was made successfully first in c# 2005 express and then in c# 2010 ultimate and every thing was working fine.

.

Except it was taking more then too much time. And this problem brought another idea into my mind. Why not have/make a new Computer which can solve these type of problems in acceptable time

In twitter I somehow reached on someone's tweet about monsoon rains in Karachi with some photos of plants and flowers looking very fresh because of rain drops of this season on them. I liked photos in that tweet so much that I went ahead and also liked that tweet.

There was a coconut tree in one of photos in that tweet which was looking almost same as coconut tree in our home. Which brings an idea in my mind that flowers, plants and trees are also available in our lawn then why not I also take some pictures of them and put them online.

So I quickly went to our lawn took some fresh photos with my mobile nokia c1-01, added water mark and logo to them in maybe photoshop, shortlisted them and then first tweeted them on twitter and second uploaded photos to photos.google and then shared them here in this blog post.

My photos are also looking good with rain drops on them which are making them shiny and attractive. And of-course they are giving that special feeling of monsoon also.

Following are photos of my favorite flowers. It's name is 'Milkweed' and it is also called 'aak'. These flowers are my favorite first because of their color (purple is my favorite color) and second because of their design. Both bud and bloom are very artistic. From bud to bloom flower goes through many stages, as one can see in the following photos, and all stages are very beautiful. These flowers are small but very attractive. Emphasizing that beauty (good things) comes in all/any colors, shapes & sizes. These photos were taken by me using my mobile Nokia c1-01 in 2011 while coming home from park after morning walk.

I will start to like this car even more when Honda also adds full time 4wd capability to it. and adds capability to this car so that all tiers move, by steering or engine, independent of each other under computer control. Driver only tells how much to move in what direction, how to move Computer decides.

These following flower plants and some other plants were planted by me in some neighboring parks in and around year 2011. I used to water them every few days as well, which I usually took from home in different size canes as per requirement. Smallest cane I used was 1 ltr bottle and largest 15 ltr plastic cane. Some times I made more then one trip with 15ltr water cane to parks. Carrying 15ltr cane full of water was not very easy task. All plants I planted in different parks took roots and were growing and looking very good. And they were good addition to parks and I saw myself children and their elders enjoying view ot them.

I then often used to wonder why gardeners of those parks do not plants any fancy plants like I successfully did. Once then even I asked some gardeners about it and their answer was that they only plant those plants which other then having good looks are ruf and tuf and can with stand those days when parks have shortage of water or electricity or water motor malfunction.

Then after some years I stopped going to parks for morning walk or any other reason because of first lake of interest and second, strangely, all my friends also stopped going to parks for morning walk. I got bored of walking and walking and walking, for 10 km, and then coming back all alone. Before we used to walk and talk and also at end of walk we also used to have a small talking session of around 30 minutes in parks as well, without any special topic.

After some years I specially went to park to see how plants planted by me are performing. I was stunt to see that almost all of them died. I think all plants planted by me died because of lake of interest from gardeners of parks or water or electricity shortage or water motor malfunction. And also because especially I stopped watering them because of my health and lake of interest.
