One day in morning I noticed a refrigerator cover card-box and some
packing things of our newly bought refrigerator still lying in front of our
TV-lounge. That view sent me in back by some years in time when I used internal
plastic cover of another refrigerator as a cover in rains. I and my niece
enjoyed walking in rains under cover of that plastic bag cover very much. Before
doing so I made enough holes in that plastic bag for passage of air. |

This time I said to my niece why not we make something useful of the
leftover materials from new refrigerator packings. So we together started making
plans and ended up at the idea of making a doll-house or doll-shelf. |
. |
Therefore after making plans one evening I collected tools required for
making doll-shelf. Tools were one old iron cutting saw blade for cutting
cardboard-box etc, one measuring tape, one pencil for making markings, one very
large sized needle and some old threads of different colors for stitching
different parts of doll-shelf together. Work started at around 4pm. |
. |
My niece kept helping me in the work especially in measuring and making
markings for different parts of Doll-Shelf. Plus she during work also kept doing
different thing to simulate my work. |
. |
By 9pm around half of the work was done. Almost at the same time my niece
asked me to stop working today and do remaining work tomorrow as temperature was
falling outside where I was working. I stopped and felt that I was starting to
feel tired also. During my work my niece kept supplying food and water for me. |
. |
Next day by 11am I again started working and finished making Doll-shelf by
4pm. First I made different parts of the Doll-Shelf and then I stitched them
together. I used thermocol we got from refrigerator packing for making
Doll-Shelf structure harder. |
. |
After that I and my niece together carried that Doll-Shelf into the room
of her grandparents because here she often plays with her toys and placed it
where we had planned. |
. |
Next she started placing her new and old toys on her new and self made
Doll-Shelf. How happy she was feeling was visible on all of her face and this is
the reward of doing something good for young children around oneself. |

Following are the photos I took of above mentioned Doll-Shelf using my

I started taking these photos one day after making Doll-Shelf. I do not
know why but it never came to my mind to keep taking photos during the process
of planning and making Doll-Shelf. |

[2020 Feb 19 Fri] Today morning I took a few photos of Doll-Shelf and
current set of toys arranged over it by my niece. Now a days my niece is often
found sitting in front of her this Doll-Shelf and playing joyfully with toys
arranged over it |
